Now in its third edition, Fotografiska Berlin Magazine features a cover image by British photographer Miles Aldridge, who we meet in his London studio to discuss his latest exhibition "Virgin Mary. Supermarkets. Popcorn.”, on view at Fotografiska Berlin from February 2.

Additional key stories include an in-depth analysis of Omar Victor Diop’s series "Allegoria," "Libery," and "Diaspora”, which questions the Western gaze on Africans, written by Azu Nwagbogu, the founder and director of African Artists' Foundation (AAF). Additionally, readers are treated to a sneak peek into "BLACK MOVES," a digital exploration of light and nature by Hong Kong-born artist Carla Chan.

Art critic Eliza Levinson contributes a thought-provoking essay on the reclamation of the portrait as a tool for (self-) representation, particularly for individuals from marginalized communities. Our central dossier offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at "buntkicktgut," an intercultural street football league for children and young people, actively fostering unity across diverse cultures and social backgrounds. The issue also engages in meaningful conversations with storytellers and activists Tupoka Ogette, Maria Popov, Maria Bochat, and Quang Paasch, who share their perspectives on co-creating a better society. Berlin designer Esther Perbandt shares her insights on self-fashioning and the creation of gender-inclusive Verōnika staff uniforms.
