‘Berlin has always been a city of amazing women for me,’ says Danielle de Picciotto. And if there is one woman who represents this city, it is Marlene Dietrich. In the new screen print edition from tipBerlin, the legendary diva appears in a youthful guise as the inspiring spirit, myth and patron saint of tough Berlin women. Danielle de Picciotto's screen print is called ‘Marlene and her friends’. In front of the symbolic backdrop of an ever-changing environment – Allesandersplatz – stand Françoise Cactus, Käthe Kruse, Gudrun Gut, Christiane Rösinger and Maruscha, who have become famous and influential as musicians, artists, label operators, DJs, authors and in many other roles. Danielle de Picciotto's work is not only a tribute to their achievements, it is also a declaration of love to the women of Berlin.
