Screen print adaptation by Jim Avignon of Heinrich Zille's "Children of the Street" (1908)
Heinrich Zille is the forefather of Berlin drawing - his "Milljöh" is legendary.
Contemporary artist Jim Avignon has reinterpreted the cover image of Zille's picture book "Children of the Street" with his very own visual approach: "With Zille, it was two prostitutes and a pimp. But I only found that out later, after I had covered the motif. With me, it then became more of a street scene with people aimlessly but happily wandering through the night in search of the next pleasure."
