Heinrich Zille is the forefather of Berlin drawing. Like no other, he captured the spirit, quirks, misery, and humor of Berliners on paper.
Contemporary illustrator Jakob Hinrichs has reinterpreted Zille's poster for Circus Busch (1922) and drawn a bridge between Zille's time and the present with his unique visual approach: "I'm fascinated by the backyard cosmos as a meeting place for all children. It's something I find very Berlin and something that still happens in our backyard, especially during lockdown."
