We dedicated our special 250th issue to the 250 Greatest Berliners of All Time. Berlin has been home to some truly exceptional historical figures, architects, club creators, photographers, academics, politicians, foodies, performers, athletes, musicians, animals, community members, activists, writers, artists, thinkers, inventors, actors, scientists and people from all walks of life. It might not be a perfect list (no list is), but it’s a way to recognise at least some of the Berliners who’ve made Berlin what it is today. It might raise more questions than it answers, the main one being: what is a Berliner? The top 10 were voted for by the public, which means there is indeed a Number One Greatest Berliner of All Time (who knows, it could be YOU).
